Accounts Payable Clerk
Oahu – Honolulu Support Services

Position Overview:

HouseMart Ace Hardware & Crafts Accounting Department is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk responsible for providing clerical support as necessary to pay the obligations of the company.

Essential Functions:

  • Projects the highest level of AIE (attitude, intelligence, and enthusiasm) to both external and internal customers.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
  • Maintains invoice filing and reports
  • Codes documents according to company procedures
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
  • Comply with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations
  • Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes and other payments.
  • Match order forms with invoices and record the necessary information.
  • Operate 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
  • Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
  • Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts

Assistant Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Assistant Manager responsible for ensuring exceptional service to both external and internal customers. The right candidate will be able to oversee all facets of daily store operations to increase sales and profit, provide continuous training for employees on proper selling techniques, observe inventory best practices and perpetuate product knowledge.

 Essential Functions:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent customer service
  • Cultivates customer’s goodwill and encourages repeat business
  • Assists the Store Manager in monitoring budgets and sales
  • Ensure the store is being run in accordance with our company’s policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Store Manager and staff on how to constantly improve the store

Position Overview:

We are seeking a customer service oriented Cashier responsible for providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be able to process transactions in an accurate, efficient and courteous manner, while maximizing sales and assisting customers with their home improvement projects.

 Essential Functions:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent customer service
  • Accurately and efficiently handle all transactions with customers: including cash, credit, check and gift card
  • Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
  • Make sale referrals, up-sell products and introduce future items
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout station
  • Process POS (point of sale) purchases
  • Verifies cash drawer at the beginning of the shift and accurately balances their own cash drawer
  • Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
  • Properly uses and secures two-way radios and headsets as assigned
  • Comply with inventory control procedures

Craft Coordinator
Oahu – Pearl City Ben Franklin Crafts

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Craft Coordinator responsible to coordinate all in-store craft functions related to craft classes, demonstrations, Keiki Club activities and craft display areas. The Craft Coordinator assists the store management in meeting sales goals by creating craft projects that increase sales and profit opportunities.

Essential Functions:

  • Explains, demonstrates use of products and techniques when approached by a customer
  • Maintains and promotes the designated craft display area with current and new trends in projects
  • Assists, plans and coordinates craft fairs and in-store events
  • Takes the lead in coordinating community service projects and makes regular contacts with community organizations, schools, clubs, etc. to increase business development
  • Establishes monthly calendar of events as required and ensures mandatory demonstrations/workshops
  • Coordinates sign up for craft classes and maintaining a sign up log
  • Continuously implements and trains store personnel and instructors with product knowledge and new craft ideas in a timely manner

Receiver
Oahu – Market City Ben Franklin Crafts

We are seeking a Receiver responsible for coordinating all functions of the store receiving area.

Essential Functions:

  • Unloads merchandise from the freight container following company safety policies and procedures
  • Promptly receives, unpacks and examines all goods against bills of lading, invoices or other documents
  • Accurately verifying quantities, damages or discrepancies of each shipment
  • Ensures accurate pricing of merchandise before it goes to the selling floor
  • Segregates merchandise by department and assists in the stocking of merchandise on the sales floor
  • Continually maintains the receiving warehouse area in an organized, clean and safe manner
  • Prepares inter-store transfers, returns to vendor and special orders
