Being HouseMart Helpful with Kauai Habitat for Humanity

(January 15-18, 2013) Nobody said that caring for your community wasn’t hard work. From January 15-18, dedicated volunteers from Kauai’s HouseMart Ace Hardware provided their manpower and tool expertise to aid Kauai Habitat for Humanity build much needed affordable housing in the Anahola area.

Our HouseMart home builders spent over 7 hours each day at the work site adding their helpful touch to the home building project. The tasks included working on the soffit, window trimming and painting. Stephen Spears, Executive Director of Kauai Habitat for Humanity said, “We were thrilled to have HouseMart Ace Hardware out at the job site in Anahola. Their participation was critical as we work to finish up these three homes. We commend the team for sharing their skills, learning new ones, and for their community spirit.”

Fourteen HouseMart Ace team members volunteered their time and effort on the housing project, donating over 120 hours! Our busy builders volunteered as part of our Caring for Communities project. The goal of the initiative is to make positive change in your community through volunteerism with over half of our employees volunteering over 1,000 hours! Mahalo to our Kauai HouseMart Ace Hardware team for helping to build affordable housing for families in the Anahola area.
