Ben Franklin Crafts and PACT Wrap Up Another Community Service Event

All Smiles for Team BFC: (From L-R) Gary F., Roy W., Kelly N., Lori I.

(November 17, 2012) A team from Ben Franklin Crafts (BFC) wrapped up another fun filled community service project to help families in need with the nonprofit organization Parents and Children Together (PACT).  The craft squad helped wrap care packages filled with canned goods and other edible perishables to distribute to various nonprofits to give to families in need this holiday season.

The scene at King Intermediate’s cafeteria in Kaneohe was cheerful and busy as it was full of people packing the boxes with food, wrapping them up, and getting them ready to deliver.  The task seemed daunting at first, but through teamwork and positive energy, the volunteers completed their goal in a little over 2 hours, which was half the time it was estimated to accomplish the feat!

Team leader from BFC Enchanted Lakes Lori I. said,”My kids have always participated in volunteer events for PACT with their school. This time I wanted to participate and give back.  Now I’m on their list, and if they give me a call I’ll be ready!”

The Ben Franklin volunteer team donated 8 hours of their time to PACT’s gift wrapping event. The volunteering effort is part of a company-wide volunteerism initiative called Caring for Communities, where employees give back to their local community by volunteering to help the United Way and its partner agencies like PACT through giving their time and efforts.  Thank you to our BFC team for wrapping up another successful volunteer effort and making one more family’s holiday season a little more special.
