(September 27, 2012) Maui United Way (MUW) received some helpful hands from Ace Hardware during the 2012 Maui Fair Parade. A team of volunteers from Ace Hardware at Lahaina briefly traded their tools for Live United Signs; waving and walking to show support for the island-wide non-profit. Showing an united effort, participants with MUW donned the MUW t-shirts, waved signs, and shared aloha with on-lookers of the event.
Martin Hussey, parade walker and Assistant Store Manager from Ace Hardware at Lahaina said, “We just want to help out with whatever project our community needs. Tell us where to be, we’ll be there. Tell us what to do, we’ll do it! We’re there to help, that’s the main thing.”
The parade marked the beginning of the fun and festivities of the Maui Fair. The fair celebrated its 90th anniversary and included over 5,000 participants, various exhibitions, and a carnival style atmosphere! Thank you to Team Lahaina for their continued support of the Maui community.
